Welcome to the Website of the Deal / Saint - Omer Twinning Society. You will see from our Website that the principle function of the Society is to encourage and participate in annual family exchanges alternating between Deal and Saint-Omer. In addition to these exchanges the Society holds regular monthly meetings in Deal Town Hall for members and guests, where speakers are invited to entertain and enlighten us on a variety of subjects; this is normally followed by a free wine and buffet supper where members and guests can socialise.
We also organise lunch and shopping trips to northern France to celebrate Bastille Day in July and Beaujolais Nouveau or Christmas shopping in November. We are also keen to act as a liaison between other groups and organisations between Deal and the St- Omer area. The current annual membership subscription is £10.00, renewable in March each year and new members are always very welcome.
Don`t forget to order the flowers and book the table! - It could be too late now!

The scheme is funded by Deal Town Council and Mayor Cllr Chris Turner says: “The town’s motto is ‘Welcome the Stranger’ and we don’t want anybody feeling alone and worried about having a warm place to go or being able to get something to eat this winter. “I would encourage everyone to go along to a Deal Warm Welcome, join in and have a chat. Sharing your time and listening and talking to others can be very rewarding. “And my thanks go to all the partner organisations whose energy and kindness will make sure everyone in our town can be safe and warm this winter.”
