We again visited "La Ferme Loisel" for lunch and to meet some of our French friends. Early departure to avoid crossing delays which, fortunately, did not arise, meant we arrived early at 11.30. This was despite French fonctionaires blocking the road with open manholes. Fortunately we had a French member with us who knew the colloquial language of the French road worker and "persuaded" those Gallic sons of toil to open the road. Even so, the driver had to straddle the open manholes (With the coach of course). Our early arrival did not phase the proprietor who gulped, stuttered, opened the bar, phoned his staff and got on with the important business of serving us. As an indication of the quality of the meal we left the restaurant three and three quarter hours later at about 3.15! The rest of the day, until Shuttle departure, was spent in Cite Europe which adequately filled the coach`s storage! Detailed Customs checks were avoided by large amounts of aromatic cheeses bought for the Society`s Cheeseand Wineevening on the 17th November
